Established in 1980, the Chaffey's Lock and Area Heritage Society researches, preserves and presents historical and heritage information pertaining to the area around Chaffey's Lock, Ontario. To this end, the Heritage Society operates the Lockmaster's House Museum & maintains artifacts within. The Heritage Society also owns, maintains and operates the historic Chaffey's Lock Community Hall, maintains the Chaffey's Lock Cemetery, Memory Wall, Celtic Cross and the Marian Dunn Trail.
The Heritage Society also publishes a Chaffey’s Lock & Area Heritage Society newsletter annually and facilitates community events throughout the year to help support its programs. It encourages individuals, families and businesses to become members and sponsors, to support its work in the community.
